PHASE I, II, & III PROGRAMS
VIRTUAL REALITY
VIRTUAL REALITY
The virtual reality component works to expand Wyoming’s higher education institutions' capacity to integrate virtual reality into courses, develop and create virtual reality applications, and coordinate the deployment of virtual reality resources to maximize return on investment.
Virtual reality integration will span throughout the WIP phases and expand the reach of education programs to site bound students and offer additional tools to engage students.

PHASE II KEY METRICS
The Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP) is focused on key metrics, data, and outcomes. This data-driven approach has been used to guide decisions that support solidifying transformational strategies to help Wyoming and our communities thrive long-term and realize a return on investment.
PHASE III KEY METRICS
The WIP’s mission is rooted in providing tools and resources that extend the reach and impact of education statewide. Virtual reality (VR) has become a key component, offering immersive learning experiences across disciplines such as nursing, archaeology, criminal justice, and outdoor education. Complementary initiatives, like the VR library lending program and undergraduate internship support, are ensuring broad access and hands-on experience. By developing advanced systems and fostering collaborations across institutions, the WIP is strengthening Wyoming’s educational network and creating innovative learning opportunities that prepare students for success.

The virtual reality (VR) component focuses on expanding the capacity of higher education institutions to integrate virtual reality into courses. This includes developing applications and coordinating the deployment of virtual reality resources, with a notable investment of $275k in VR equipment and software in Phase I. As a result, WIP not only facilitates collaboration among institutions but also leverages cutting-edge technology to enhance the educational experience for Wyoming students.

VIRTUAL REALITY PROGRAM
When it comes to technological advancements that enhance experiential learning possibilities, virtual reality (VR) stands at the forefront.

The VR component of the Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP) is collaboration of all postsecondary institutions that is expanding the capacity to integrate VR technology into courses and programs, develop and create VR applications, and coordinate the deployment of these resources to maximize return on investment.

The VR program started in Phase I, and the initial investment supported two trainings to over 150 attendees from all postsecondary institutions and reached over 2,000 postsecondary and K-12 students. VR has been integrated into 47 courses across a variety of discipline into workforce training for 2,000 employees.

Phase III’s additional investments are expected to expand the reach of VR to more students and courses, continue faculty training and support, and the development of statewide projects in the areas of nursing and library services.
