Leadership Wyoming to graduate to an independent organization in 2019

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - After a long and successful incubation as a program of the Wyoming Heritage Foundation, Leadership Wyoming will transition to an independent stand-alone nonprofit organization in 2019.

The Wyoming Heritage Foundation and the University of Wyoming launched the Leadership Wyoming program in 1999 as a way to grow and develop leaders in the state. The program has steadily grown over the years, now boasting 758 graduates in addition to the 2019 class.

Cindy DeLancey, president of the Wyoming Heritage Foundation/Wyoming Business Alliance, called Leadership Wyoming a "true incubator success story."

"What started as just an idea almost twenty years ago has now grown into the must-attend leadership program in the state. We couldn't be more pleased with Leadership Wyoming's success and are excited to see what the future holds."

Mandy Fabel has served as the Executive Director of Leadership Wyoming since December of 2017. "Leadership Wyoming is thankful for its robust history with the Wyoming Heritage Foundation and the Wyoming Business Alliance. We look forward to continuing to work collaboratively for many years to come."

The transition to an independent organization will start in 2018 and will likely be completed by the spring of 2019.

DeLancey, who is a graduate of the Leadership Wyoming Class of 2010 encouraged the business community to continue to both support Leadership Wyoming and take the leadership course. "Wyoming needs to have well-rounded, experienced leaders in our communities. Graduating from Leadership Wyoming set alumni on a path to personal success.”
