CHEYENNE, Wyo. - Four businesses and two nonprofits will be featured for their contributions to Wyoming at the 2019 Governor’s Business Forum being Nov. 12-14 in Cheyenne.
“We selected these six success stories to highlight not only their contributions to Wyoming but also in hopes that their positive stories inspire others,” said Cindy DeLancey, President of the Wyoming Business Alliance/Wyoming Heritage Foundation. “Through grit, expertise in their fields and passion, these incredible companies and nonprofits are on the ground making a difference in Wyoming. 307Health in Powell
Dr. Michael Tracy and Dr. Robert L. Chandler co-founded 307Health in 2015 in Powell to address growing constraints and challenges currently in the fee-for-service medical system. 307Health is a direct primary care practice in Powell that strives to achieve the goals of the quadruple aim: improve the patient experience of health care, measurably improve healthcare delivery, decrease the per capita cost of healthcare, and improve the medical liability climate through improved patient-provider communication.
ExxonMobil
ExxonMobil’s Wyoming assets currently employ 200 people, plus a contractor workforce of 100 up to 500 during peak construction seasons. ExxonMobil operates wellfields and dehy facility in Sublette County, the feedgas pipeline and Shute Creek treating facility in Lincoln County and CO2 compression and sales facility in Sweetwater County. Methane, LNG, CO2 and helium are sold from these facilities, which ExxonMobil has operated since 1986.
Merlin's Hide Out in Thermopolis
Head craftsman and namesake, Merlin Heinze, founded Merlin’s Hide Out in Thermopolis in 1999. He and his wife, Barb, handcraft fur and leather products that they have shipped worldwide. They source prime quality hides locally from the Rocky Mountain region and craft these into finished products including stunning Buffalo Fur Coats that have been featured prominently in Hollywood movies. Each product created by Merlin’s Hide Out is a handmade heirloom and can be custom tailored to a customer's needs.
Vacutech in Sheridan
Vacutech moved to Sheridan in 2012 where it has sustained growth of 20-30 percent per year.Led by Vacutech founders and brothers Tom Tucker and John Tucker, Vacutech has more than 100 years of combined experience and experience in the vacuum industry. Vacutech has been a pioneer and continued innovator in designing and building central vacuum systems for industrial commercial applications, including the company's primary focus on vacuum for the modern car wash industry. Other system applications have ranged from housekeeping to pharmaceutical to mining to renewable energy. Vacutech is the original creator of the vacuum delivery arch that revolutionized the car wash industry. Today, Vacutech has more than 185 employees and sells vacuum systems throughout the United States and around the world.
Wyoming Association for Career and Technical Education
The Wyoming Association for Career and Technical Education (WACTE) provides educational leadership in developing a competitive workforce. WACTE provides activities for teachers, counselors, and administrators that both support and enhance career and technical education programs throughout the state. Throughout its time, the team at WACTE has worked to build public awareness of career and technical education and to develop activities for teachers, counselors, and administrators that both support and enhance career and technical education programs throughout the state. A top priority of theirs is working closely with business and industry, education leadership, and workforce partners in the interest of creating greater opportunity for our CTE students.
Wyoming Mining Natural Resource Foundation
The Wyoming Mining Natural Resource Foundation (WMNRF) has developed an initial conservation strategy that is designed to engage landowners, agencies and other stakeholders to partner with the mining industry to implement durable conservation practices on the ground. This nonprofit corporation is an outgrowth of a cooperative, voluntary conservation initiative led by the trona/soda ash industry with the objective of benefiting the Greater sage-grouse and other sagebrush obligate species. The mining industry participants include Ciner Wyoming LLC, Genesis Alkali Wyoming LP, Solvay Chemicals Inc. and Tata Chemicals.
