• Leadership Wyoming hires Mandy Fabel as executive director

    CHEYENNE, Wyo. - The Wyoming Heritage Foundation and Leadership Wyoming have hired Mandy Fabel, a Lander resident, as the executive director of Leadership Wyoming.

    Leadership Wyoming is a nine-month educational leadership program created in 1999 by the Wyoming Heritage Foundation and the University of Wyoming. Today the successful program boasts over 700 graduates.

    "We are excited to have Mandy on board to grow the quality of the Leadership Wyoming program while working shoulder to shoulder with the Wyoming Business Alliance to make the state a better place," said Cindy DeLancey, president of the Wyoming Business Alliance and Wyoming Heritage Foundation, which is the managing partner of Leadership Wyoming. "I'm looking forward to working with her."

    "Mandy stood out for her ability to build effective relationships, her enthusiasm for the program and her experience in nonprofit management," said Linda Lindsey, Chairman of Leadership Wyoming Board. "Her leadership skills will help steer the program into its next chapter."

    As executive director, Fabel will be responsible for the management, growth, and development of the Leadership Wyoming program. She will start in late December 2017.

I am very much looking forward to connecting with the current class and the 700+ alumni across the state to continue to build the Leadership Wyoming program into the future."   

    Fabel holds an MBA from the University of Wyoming and has experience working in Wyoming communities to understand challenges and build collaborative solutions across multiple sectors. Her recent work with the Wyoming Community Foundation has connected her with hundreds of nonprofits, businesses, and individuals across Wyoming. She has also taught customized leadership courses to many groups over the past ten years including students from the U.S. Naval Academy, University of Wyoming, Duke, University of North Carolina, and more. She is a graduate of the Leadership Wyoming class of 2017 and an active Rotarian. She and her husband Brian currently reside in Lander, Wyoming where they enjoy pursuing outdoor adventures and cheering for the Wyoming Cowboys!

    Leadership Wyoming provides leaders who are committed to excellence and progress in Wyoming the opportunity to better understand general public policy issues, economic and social diversity and the challenges facing our state; and to prepare them, through shared mutual interests and the leadership skills developed, to be active in building a better Wyoming.
